Fylde Neighbourhood Watch Press Release

Four year’s ago I was appointed Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator for Marton.

Having received the pamphlets and stickers to distribute to all new members, I decided to add my own letter of introduction, and followed this with the distribution of a Newsletter, in order to keep people interested in the NHW Scheme, and also to keep them informed of what was going on in their community.

I strived to make the Newsletter informative, but witty, and at first 70 Newsletters were delivered.
Four years on, and now 1,200 Newsletters are distributed monthly.

Then several months ago, a young man called Damian Buckley contacted me, he stated how he enjoyed the Newsletter and would like to offer his services in order to take the Newsletter to a wider audience. Being a Website Designer, Damian offered to design and set up a Website free of charge.

But this was just the start, I had wanted to set up a children’s Neighbourhood Watch Club for several years, and now thanks to Damian and Our Website, we have been able to achieve it.

The real Star behind all this, is a little chap called “MARTON SUPER SQUIRREL”. Not only is he “Nut’s about Neighbourhood Watch” but he now runs his own Kiddies club, “The Watchling Club”, where children can join totally free of charge. They receive lots of Marton’s Super Squirrel “goodies”, and can read his stories, do his puzzles, and even reply to “Ask Marton Questions”.

He will be visiting Schools, Hospitals, Brownies and Cubs, and basically for any one who needs “Marton Super Squirrel”, he will be available.

Thanks to Damian Buckley, we now have the first dedicated “Fylde Neighbourhood Watch Website”, and also “The Neighbourhood Watchling Club”, in which we also produce “The New and Original Watchling Comic”.
