POLICE will be
auctioning unclaimed property
POLICE in Blackpool
and the Fylde will be auctioning unclaimed
property in a bid to raise money for The
Prince's Trust.
Property that has
been recovered by police or handed in by members
of the public, including pedal cycles, cameras
and golf clubs will be auctioned at an event on
Saturday (12 December).
Chief Insp Karen
Simister said: "The Prince's Trust does some
fantastic work assisting young people to
progress into work, education or training, often
turning their lives around.
"We are hoping that by selling the unclaimed
property we will be able to raise as much money
as possible for this important charity.
"I would encourage
residents to come along to this event - you may
grab a bargain - and at the same time help raise
money for a great cause."
The charity auction
will take place at 11am on Saturday 12 December
at the Salvation Army on Raikes Parade in
Blackpool. Members of the public are invited to
attend to bid for items.
This fundraising activity comes as Lancashire
Constabulary has signed up to the national
'Million Maker's' competition, which challenges
teams of employees to raise money which will
contribute to £1 million in total for The
Prince's Trust.
